Prevention of Protein Adsorption by Modified Surface of PEG-g-Chitosan Layer for Ultrafiltration Membrane
Lee Sang-Bong

Abstract
Protein adsorption behavior onto the surface of Chitosan membrane was investigated by comparing with other cases on Pectin, Dextran and Hyaluronic acid. The histogram of concentration profile of adsorbed protein revealed to mechanism of adsorption behavior according to surface structure of polysaccharides. This mechanism was well proved by modification of surface morphology to become loose and Dissipative using hydrophilic polymer branch such as poly ethylene glycol. As an example for guarantee of high application ability, an ultrafiltration membrane system was demonstrated successfully.
